This is a vintage 12 Volt Columbia Radio Co Vol-Ta-Drop Los Angles, CAL Providence, R I.  It does have a crack that seems to have been repaired with a black substance.  The front has three connections…One says 12 volt, one says Radio, and one says Access.   The one that says Radio is the one with the repair.
